The Strengthened Movements to End Violence Against Women and Girls in Southern and East Africa project focuses on amplifying the voices of under-represented women and girls, particularly women with disabilities, in the fight against EVAWG.

The project aims to increase their engagement, participation, and influence in key policy and decision-making spaces, including the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the High-level Political Forum, and African Union regional summits. Through targeted support, capacity strengthening, and facilitation of participation in global and regional platforms, the project contributes to more inclusive feminist movements that recognize and respond to the specific needs and rights of women and girls with disabilities.

Outcome: Increased engagement, participation, and influence of under-represented groups of women and girls collectively advocating on ending violence against women and girls (EVAWG) through their participation in key policy and decision-making spaces such as the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, Regional African Union Summits, Beijing +30, and other strategic regional and global forums.

Output:There is increased meaningful engagement, participation, and influence by under-represented groups of women and girls at national, regional and global spaces that promote ending violence against women and girls.
